Tiana's journey to independence
Tiana, a 17-year-old high school senior, faced a difficult choice between her education and supporting her younger siblings. Without reliable transportation, attending school and working nights was a constant struggle. Through The KEYS Foundation, Tiana received more than just a vehicle; she gained financial literacy and maintenance skills, empowering her to budget effectively and maintain her new car. This support allowed her to graduate on time and pursue college, all while continuing to care for her family.
“I thought I was stuck. KEYS gave me more than a car — it gave me options,” Tiana shared, reflecting on her journey.
Our impact in numbers
We are proud to share the tangible impact KEYS is building for the future. In Year 1 (2026), The KEYS Foundation will launch its pilot program, placing 3–5 vehicles with motivated youth ages 16–21 and pairing each with ownership education and accountability coaching to create lasting change. These first placements will lay the groundwork for community partnerships and future growth. By Year 5 (2030), KEYS aims to be a fully sustainable nonprofit placing 50 or more vehicles each year across North Texas—empowering hundreds of young people to overcome transportation barriers, pursue education and employment, and move toward purpose and possibility.
Building community and connection
Beyond vehicles, The KEYS Foundation thrives on building a strong, supportive community. We host quarterly gatherings that celebrate our recipients' achievements, foster connections, and provide ongoing support. These events are vibrant opportunities for individuals and families to share their experiences, learn from each other, and strengthen their ties within the community. We also actively stimulate local economic growth by partnering with family-owned automotive repair shops for vehicle inspections and repairs, and collaborate with local dealerships, banks, and insurance companies. These partnerships reinforce our commitment to community investment and sustainability.
